Now or Never!
Before His ascension to heaven, Jesus Christ left a message to be adhered to, by His disciples. This was the Great Commission; they were to preach the gospel of the Lord to everyone, to all the nations of the world (Matthew 28: 16-20), and no one was to be left out of it. In fact, this is a mandate to be taken up by all Christians, and not the disciples only. It is up to each and everyone of us to spread the word of God to everybody. You are expected to preach and share the word of God, provided you have accepted Him as your Lord and savior. However, things are not going on as we were admonished to. Most people have allowed the pleasures of the world to drown them, while putting the work of God on hold. Many believe that there is much to be attained in the world than in Christ. Pleasures like a good job, riches, traveling experiences and luxurious cars are what people believe to be the foremost priority. The assumption that the world has more to give than the church has taken a great toll on us so much that we forget one important scripture;
“But seek ye the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you… “ Matthew 6:33.
We keep forgetting that riches, wealth and luxury lies with the creator and rather focus on worldly things. The work of God should not be a part-time job we only pick up on Sunday mornings. It should be a habitual duty that counts in every step you take, while on earth. Your crown as a joint heir with Christ must always be gleaming on your head with pride – not only on Sundays or during weekday church activities. It should on at all times! Now is the time to announce your stance as a child of God. Do not wait till tomorrow, or when you feel you have finally satisfied your self-acclaimed purpose.
Moreover, no one even knows when Christ would come back for those who are His, so why then must you procrastinate? What if the day you choose to start doing the work of God is when He finally decides to come? Would you make it, or would you be left behind?
Think about this brethren; it is now, or never.
