More Of You

MORE OF YOU

“I want more of you…more of you, Jesus more of you…”

This song is a very popular worship song sang in most churches. We sing it to show how much we need God’s presence in our midst. However, do we really understand what it means to have God’s presence around us?

Do we really understand the impact of the presence of God? It means morre of Jesus means less of the flesh.

If you have made up your mind to crave God’s presence at all times, there is also the need to crave less of the flesh.

The flesh is vanity, and easily attracted to sin. Indeed, it is the root of all iniquities! (Galatians 5:19-21).

This is the more reason why we need the influx of the Holy Spirit in us.

The spirit of the Lord is His presence so, His being around us, has God himself with us.

Also, when the presence of God himself is with you, there should be no worry for the things of the flesh. He is more than enough!

The passions of the flesh are a lot, and demands so many things. However, the availability of the Holy Spirit equalizes everything.

No wonder the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 12: 9 that, “… His grace is sufficient for us, and in our weakness, strength is made available to us”.

This is what God does for children! He makes sure that we are always protected and in good hands – so that is the more reason why we should crave for more of Him.

When the presence of God is manifested to us, there is nothing of the flesh that can supersede it.

However, there are certain behaviors, sins and faults, that are capable of moving His presence away from us.

This isn’t to say that God is afraid of our faults; No!

He is just too Holy and righteous to thrive in sin. His nature is pure.

Therefore, in order to have more of Him around us, you and I must make the conscious effort to minimize the influx of the flesh, and focus more of making way for His presence.

With this, you should always be engaged in His word, so as to know all the good He has for his children, as well as the things that keeps His presence with us.

Also, be eager to go to Him in prayer for all things. Not some, but all! Prayer is simply a way to communicate with the father and the more you speak to someone, the higher the chance for you to get closer to him. This is mostly why Christians are encouraged to pray. It gets you closer to God. As this continues, the ways of the flesh (sin) is slowly killed.

However, reading the word and praying should not be done just “doing” sake. It must be done with meaning. As you read and pray, you get to know Him more. In fact, you get to build a relationship with Him!

His presence is divine- it is a strong tower, and all who run into it are saved! So, get close to Him, and seek more of Him. He would definitely show himself strong.
